Caring for a Banarasi Saree
Fold, do not hang
Hanging pulls the weave out of shape over months. Refold along the original creases every few weeks so the same line never sets.
Keep zari away from damp
- Store in a cotton bag, never plastic
- Slip in a muslin layer between folds
- Air it once a season
Dry cleaning is for stains, not for routine care.
